Feeding frenzies are always cool to watch. After all of the years diving at this site, La Viuda in the Catalina Islands…Normally I like to put my hand in with the fish and pet them…they don’t care..they are too busy eating….However on this day…there was a surprise hiding in the frenzy…a HUGE green moray eel. Luckily I saw him and did not get bitten… Guess I will not be doing that any more. Another reason to remember not to touch 🙂 This is one of my favorite parts of the dive. You could be diving along and as you pass the nesting areas of the sergeant majors… you look back and all of the butterfly barber, king angels and surgeon fish are coming in for the buffet. Beautiful! The scuba diving adventures along the north west coast of Costa Rica rock my world.
